The Big Apple
Sometimes being enthusiastic and ambitious is not all that it's cracked up to be. This city is stressful. It might have something to do with it being the first landowned property actually purchased from the Indians by the Dutch, the huge crystal deposits under the bedrock of Manhattan Island, or the electrical currents and communication lines under the sidewalks, buildings and streets, plumbing, traffic, high and low wave radio frequencies, sound waves, light waves... Manhattan, in my view, is just like most cosmopolitan cities only it's in overdrive.
"Energy" is a prime feature used to describe NYC to someone who has never been here. "The city that never sleeps". "If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere". The list of songs, slogans and overall reputation of New York City goes on and on.
